Not-So Heatwave

Well, following the heatwave of a few weeks ago, Adelaidians today experienced about the opposite - flash flooding twice in one day.
So I managed to get soaked twice, but not too badly.

After today's flash flooding I discovered I'm a little unsure about my new work surroundings :
1) The building I'm in started leaking. All of a sudden I see people rushing to a desk & putting their bins on it, & then I see the water gushing down. I was kinda hoping for some sort of short circuit & power failure so I could go home early! :D
2) The roads surrounding the premises flooded. A lot. So it was a rather slow 5km/h drive for a lil while until the water subsided.
Charming.

It reminded me of a vague childhood memory. You know those memories that are so vague you're not sure if it really happened, or if it was a dream.
Well anyway, back in good ol Broken Hill (where the streets are notoriously bad for flooding) when I was, oh say 5, my mum's mini flooded with me & my bro in the car. So mum steered the car while us 2 littles got out & pushed. A classic, hilarious memory.

I quite like this reminiscing (if that's how you spell it). Maybe I'll do more of it, I figure in a few years my memory is gonna start to go, so I'd better store these treasured memories somewhere ...
