Homesick
Today, I felt well & truly homesick.
It was at about 9.30am this morning, when I rubbed my eyes a few times & looked at the final score for Australia vs Japan : 3-1.
I wanted to 'do the plane' a few times around the room in celebration, but there were no other Aussies around to revel in the moment of glory.
Would have given anything to have seen the last 10 minutes of that match down at the local, a long island in one hand, and a drunken Nav in the other.
Hats off Socceroos, hats off.

Drunk Nav BETTER be there. PK needs drunk company!
Bit of a bugger about the result today though, eh Boss? But I was proud with what I saw back in Sydney - people jumping around celebrating everywhere. Even though we lost to Italy we still use that as an excuse to party.
I don't know about the Australian media, but all I was seeing on the US media when they got kicked out was "ok, so who do we blame for this???" Pretty bad, that.
I think the angriest I could possibly get in this situation, and this is really pushing it, would be to buy a margarita pizza and a cappuccino and not eat or drink either of them. For me, denying myself food like that is a pretty big deal and my personal form of protest.
So if Germany beat Australia in dubious circumstances, does that mean you'd boycott the plain beef schnitty with a squeeze of lemon? No way ...
Ha - put it this way: let's hope that Germany never does beat Australia in dubious circumstances. I think I'd get so crazy not eating that schnitty I'd have to go head-butt someone, Zidane stylie.
